Nonprofit and Exempt Organizations can E-File a Tax Extension from Anywhere in Minutes

The Tax deadline of May 15th is here for Nonprofit Organizations, Charities, and any other types of Exempt Organizations. The E-file IRS Form 8868 with Expressextension.comsolution to defer this deadline is to file a Tax Extension with the IRS Form 8868. This provides three months of additional time to prepare the tax return (or six months if filing the Form 990-T). If even more time is needed, there is a second part of the Form 8868 that can be filed separately once the first part of the 8868 is filed. Part 2 of the 8868 would provide an additional 3 months to file the tax return on top of the first three month extension.

The most convenient and efficient way to get a tax extension is to E-File it online through ExpressExtension. No more waiting in line, or making trips to the post office; just log in to the IRS Authorized E-File provider site: http://www.ExpressExtension.com. Once the form is E-filed, the IRS sends a proof of acceptance automatically via e-mail.

It is now possible to even E-File this from a smartphone. The mobile version of ExpressExtension is http://m.ExpressExtension.com The talented team at ExpressExtension are incredibly proud of the fact that this is the first truly mobile application to e-file a tax extension from anywhere.

No need to create a separate account, just log in using Google or Facebook.
After logging in, there will be three options:
Personal Tax Extension – IRS Form 4868
Business Tax Extension – IRS Form 7004
Non-Profit/Exempt Tax Extension – IRS Form 8868

When E-filing a NonProfit tax extension, all that is needed is basic information such as filing status and the estimated tax liability. It is important to remember that an IRS tax extension is an extension of time to file a tax return. It is not an extension of time to pay taxes. Therefore, the IRS will still expect a tax payment on the traditional deadline. If the tax payment is significantly less than the actual tax due, the IRS may impose harsh penalties and interest.

ExpressExtension has a dedicated team of USA based tax extension experts that are available for live chat, email, and phone support. “We are incredibly proud of our customer support team in Rock Hill, SC.” says Amanda Davis, product manager for ExpressExtension. “We will be available for any questions regarding IRS tax extensions throughout the tax season. There is no better combination of efficient E-Filing, affordable pricing, and locally based knowledgeable support in the industry.”

Tax Extensions for Non-Profit Organizations

April 15th, 2011
Individuals and businesses are not the only ones that can receive a tax extension from the IRS.  After all, there are other types of organizations that could benefit from filing a tax extension.  Non-Profit and Exempt Organizations can also file tax extensions with the IRS by Filing Form 8868.  Unlike the process of filing a personal or business tax return, the Form 8868 has 2 separate parts.

The First Part of a Non-Profit Tax Extension is an Automatic 3 Month Extension of Time to File.  Unless a Non-Profit Organization files a Form 990-T, the first part will only extend the deadline by 3 months.  (990-T extends the deadline for 6 months)

The Second Part of this form is an additional 3 month tax extension.  This additional extension can only be filed if the organization has already been granted the first 3 month extension.

The easiest and safest way to file this form is the same as for anything else being sent to the IRS: E-File.  The Internal Revenue Service prefers the E-File method and have often referred to it as  ”Safer than paper filing”.  Some people speculate that it will not be too long before the IRS requires that all documents be processed using E-File.

This Form can be either paper filed, or E-Filed (except Form 8870, which must be paper filed).  The IRS recommends E-File because it is the safest and quickest way to file anything.  Unlike Personal and Business Extensions, there are only a handful of service providers available online for filing Non-Profit Tax Extensions.  One such provider is ExpressExtension.com.  They provide a quality service at a very affordable price.

Express Extension Is Now Offering Non-Profit Tax Extensions!!!

February 25th, 2011
It’s Official! Non-Profit and Tax-Exempt Organizations can now extend their 2010 tax extensions through www.expressextension.com. Express Extension is known for offering quality service as well as a quick and easy way to extend the filing date for Personal and Business Returns.Using IRS Form 8868: “Application for Extensionof Time to File an Exempt Organization Return” Non-Profit and Tax-Exempt Organizations can now file for an extension of their filing date. The process may be slightly different than that for Personal and Business Extensions, but it is just as simple. There are several distinct differences of Filing a Form 8868 rather than a Personal or Business Return Extension. For Instance, A Non-Profit Organization must provide the name of the person in charge of the books. They must also provide a Group Exemption Number if the organization is filing a group return.

A significant difference of Filing the 8868 Non-Profit Extension is that it consists of two parts. Part One is an automatic 3 month extension, while Part 2 is an additional 3 month extension. It should be noted that an organization can only file Part 2 if it has already been granted an Automatic 3-month Extension on a previously filed 8868.

Our Site allows Exempt Organizations to file either Part One or Part Two. An organization can even file Part Two through our website if it did not file part one with us (It is still necessary that a Form 8868 Part One was Filed).

In the end, we will do the same thing we do with Personal and Business Extensions. We’ll check over your form, make sure it’s clear of basic errors. After that, we’ll submit your tax extension electronically to the IRS. We’re an authorized IRS e-file provider and our site operates on a secure network, so your information is safe.

Depending on volume, you could hear back from the IRS in less than an hour. We’ll keep you updated with any new information from the IRS via email.
